Meet our founder Artur Elezi

Artur Elezi is a mathematics professor at American University in Washington DC USA. He received his BS in Mathematics from University of Tirana and his Ph. D. from Oklahoma State University, USA. Subsequently, Dr. Elezi held Postdoc positions at Stanford University California and Brigham Young University in Utah. Since 2002 he is at American University.

Dr. Elezi is an algebraic geometer by training. His research interests over the years have evolved from mathematical aspects of string theory and high energy physics to classical and quantum coding especially those that arise from algebraic constructions, and more recently in the mathematical foundations of artificial intelligence. He has been a department chair and led many committees in the department and the university.

In the early 200’s Dr. Elezi was a co-founder and President of the Albanian-American Academy, an educational nonprofit organization that established the Albanian School and helped organize the Albanian community of the DC Metro area. In 2025, Dr. Elezi founded AlbaNovus Center for Mathematics and Intelligent Systems, an educational and research initiative dedicated to advancing a deep and foundational understanding of intelligent systems.
