Dr. Ogerta Elezaj is a BridgeAI Independent Scientific Advisor at The Alan Turing Institute and a Turing Fellow, contributing to national efforts in advancing responsible and impactful AI. She is also an Associate Professor in AI at Birmingham City University (BCU), leading research, enterprise, and curriculum development in AI and data science.
Her work focuses on Generative AI, Semantic Web, Knowledge Graphs, and Cyber Security, with applications in construction, data integration, and AI fairness. Dr. Elezaj has secured and led multiple UKRI, Innovate UK, and European-funded projects.
A former Director of IT and Methodology at Office of national Institute of Statistics in Albania, and consultant for the UN and European Commission, she brings a cross-sector perspective to building transparent, explainable, and socially responsible AI systems.
